Expert Review

Over its long and renowned history Café Museum has undergone more than it share of alterations: designed by Loos in the Art Nouveau style, the café was turned upside down by Zotti, who created a more cosy, intimate interior, before reverting to Loos again and finally settling back with the Zotti style – a cavernous interior with comfy booths and suspended lamps. In spite of the myriad changes, the quality of the food and drink has remained excellent. Located near the Academy of Fine Arts, the Vienna Succession Hall and Albertina, Café Museum has long drawn in figures from the art world, including Gustav Klimt. Visitors come in search of the perfect Melange and are met with friendly, unobtrusive service and drinks carefully prepared in the true spirit of Viennese coffee culture.
